Sarapiqui, Heredia
Costa Rica
Due to its location, the La Quinta Country Inn is surrounded by the most diverse flora and fauna found in Costa Rica. The area in which the inn sits is where the country’s central volcanic range gives way to the Caribbean lowlands.
Sarapiqui is easily accessed from San Jose, Arenal and Limon thus making La Quinta an ideal accommodations option. The La Quinta has carefully reforested this former 10 acre working farm into gardens with rich vegetation which have once again allowed for the native species to populate the area.
Bird watchers will have quite a busy time at La Quinta. Approximately 100 of Costa Rica’s 850 bird species are found on La Quinta alone. An educational Butterfly Farm and La Quinta’s Frog Land are just two of the owner’s projects which aim to preserve nature. Local vegetable and fruit plantations are also common on the property. Organically grown plantain, caco, yucca, pineapple, sugar cane, papaya and tiquisque are easily found at La Quinta’s Vegetable Garden.
The Sardinal River runs just a few feet from the property allowing for guest to take a refreshing swim in its cool waters.
Other activities that can be arranged are White Water Rafting at the Sarapiquí River, La Selva Biological Station, and the Tirimbina Rain Forest Center. |
