Punta Uva, Limon.
Costa Rica
On the southern Caribbean coast of Costa Rica, in the heard of the Gandoca-Manzanillo wildlife refuge, you'll find a hidden treasure and your best choice of Natural Tree Houses in Costa Rica.
The complex is located on a 10 acre ocean front property in the famous Punta Uva beach, just south of Puerto Viejo in the province of Limon. Total privacy, a natural tranquil atmosphere, and full relaxation are keywords for the time you will spend at the tree house.
With your own beach access and 300 meter private beach front, you won't have to meet anybody else during your stay at this romantic hideway.
Rooms:
Tree House
The Tree House has two rooms and it can hold up to 6 people. The
upstairs room has a private bathroom and a twin bed. The downstairs
room is provided with a twin bed and a bunk bed for the kids.
Both rooms use the same unique shower, which is built in and around
the Sangrillo tree. The Tree House is equipped with a private kitchen
and an air-conditioned room.
Beach House
The entire Beach house was built with wood from fallen trees. Before
the development of the Beach House, we spent several months finding,
cleaning and cutting the lumber of fallen trees in the forest.
Some of the Nispero trees have been on the ground for more than 10
years. These woods are hard as iron and sink in water! Our woods are
pooled out of the jungle by oxen, sometimes over distances more than
5 km.
The Beach House was built at 80 meters from the shoreline. From your
veranda you'll enjoy the most fantastic view on the ocean and
botanical gardens.
Up to 4 people can sleep at the Beach House. The lower level includes
one open room where kitchen, living room and bedroom are all integrated.
From your King size bed you will wake up and see the ocean at your feet.
The construction is special because of its roof design. By using
several over lapping roofs, light and fresh air enter the house
from many corners.
The house is equipped with a private kitchen. Your privacy is most
important for us. The house is far away from any other building.
During your stay in the Beach House nobody will disturb you. It will
just be your family and you.
Beach Suite
The new beach suite was finished on october 2008. Its 800 sq feet
bathroom is by far the largest bathroom in the country. Calling this
one bathroom maybe does not describe the captivating opulence of this
space. As you decend into the sunken level, you are surrounded with
brilliance, imagination, and creativity.
The faucet handles are giant molded ceramic knobs that make you feel
like you are at the control of a Buck Rogers Space Ship. Another
separate shower is protected with a giant molded anaconda from where
water pours from its mouth.
Once clean, you are ready to submerge into the Sea-Horse Jacuzzi with
molded seats at different levels to suit the bather. On the other
side of the room, there are molded double sinks with more giant faucet
handles. The walls are full of stained glass and are built in flower
pots. You will not want to leave this wonderous place.
The Beach Suite also includes 3 magnificent rooms with queen beds, one
in the upper level and the other on the lower level. Also featuring a
wide living room connected to the kitchen. From the living room you
have direct access to the beach from the front of the property.
Casa Auratus
Casa Auratus has two bedrooms, each with a queen size bed. The upper loft bedroom has its own bathroom and a terrace with an outside shower.
From the upstairs bedroom the adjacent jungle appears as a wall of green that is transformed into a beautiful firefly show after dark.
The bathroom downstairs has its own shower. A fully equipped kitchen lies within the main room on the lower level. For your convenience laundry service is available. At Casa Auratus you can "let the jungle come to you". While you have your coffee on the deck you will frequently hear and see troops of howler monkeys. Exotic birds, such as toucans, are frequent visitors, and don't be surprised if the brightly colored frog, Dendrobates auratus, comes hopping by in the morning. You may even take a short walk on your own private jungle trail adjacent to the house.
Casa Auratus is situated on the edge of the jungle in the Gandoca-Manzanillo wildlife refuge.
The house is conveniently located about 800 meters north of the village of Manzanillo, the southernmost settlement along the coast road on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica. The beautiful beaches of Manzanillo and Punta Uva are nearby.
